About

A family pharmacy on Market Row since 1952

Three generations of Pellows have run this counter. The shop has changed a little. The way we look after people hasn’t.

Still the chemist on the corner

Arthur Pellow opened the shop in 1952 with one counter, a dispensary at the back and a bicycle for deliveries. The bicycle has gone, but the drawers he fitted are still behind the counter.

Today Ruth runs the pharmacy with a small team. We know most of our patients by name, we chase the surgery so you don’t have to, and we always have time for a quiet word in the consultation room.
